 Important note: Please use the GGP warranty system to determine the specific VINS
subject to this technical update. A supplemental list is provided at the end of this bulletin.

Concern: Upon technical and quality inspections of the product, one production batch of the
lower engine flanges may have been fitted with improperly installed flange plugs.

Correction: On VINs affected by this technical update, please punch the outside diameter of
the flange plug bores using the instructions provided in the following pages. Please prioritize
the repair using the guidelines below

 Vehicles in stock: Perform update before the sale at the PDI stage.

 Vehicles in circulation: Perform update at first available opportunity.

Important note: If a vehicle has already been delivered, please call each customer and

 schedule an appointment to have this procedure performed as soon as possible.

VIN Identification:

1. USA: Go to the USA dealer extranet http://www.motoguzziusadealers.com/Login/index.cfm
and login using your Login and Password. On the left column, click on “Aftersales”, then
“Service Site” at the top of the screen.

 

2. Canada: Go to the Canadian dealer extranet http://dealers.pgacanada.com/Login/index.cfm
and login using your Login and Password. On the left column, click on “Service Sites”, then
“Moto Guzzi”.

 


3. On www.servicemotoguzzi.com , find the heading “Warranties” (on left side of home page)
and click on “GGP”. Once the GGP portal opens, select “Warranty”, then “View Vehicle
Data”.
4. Enter the VIN number next to “Chassis” and select the “Search” button Search


 

5. Click on “Campagne” to view the campaigns or recalls that apply to the VIN.


 

6. Click on “Maintenance jobs” to view any campaigns or recalls that have been completed
and already claimed for by a dealer.


 

 

                                                


 

Warranty Claiming:

 

1. USA: Log in to the USA dealer extranet site and go to the Moto Guzzi service site.
2. Canada: Log in to the Canadian dealer extranet site and go to the Moto Guzzi service
site.
3. On www.servicemotoguzzi.com , select “GGP” under the heading “Warranties”- on left
side of home page. Once the GGP portal opens, select “Tech. Update- Recall
Campaign”, then “Enter Recall Campaign Claim”.
4. Enter the VIN number under “Frame” and tab down using the TAB key on your keyboard
5. Under “Element”- select “Engine flange plugs punching”.
6. Under “Coupon Type” select, “Extraordinary”.
7. Under “Coupon Number” click the Question mark and a pop-up box will appear. Click


 on the number of the coupon that applies to the procedure that was performed (1, 2, etc)

 in the coupon box.

8. In the “Km / Mls” box, enter the miles/kilometers of the vehicle.
9. In “Document No.” enter your in-house repair order number.
10. In “Document type” select “invoice”.
11. Under the “Date Carried Out”, enter the date in European format (dd/mm/yyyy)


When you are finished, submit the claim by clicking on the “Diskette Icon” Save
in the upper
left hand corner of the screen.

Important note: In order to begin the payment process, Recall claim/ Tech update
submission must be followed by “Carrying-Out” the recall or update. This is the last step in
the claim process, confirming that the work was actually completed by your dealer.
“Carrying-out” recalls or updates is performed under the function “View/Confirm Recall
Coupons” in GGP. Please see Service communication 2010-003 “Update to Recall
Campaign function” for more details.

TECHNICAL PROCEDURE

Take a punch having the features highlighted in the pictures below.

The blade shall not be sharp, but must have a chamfered profile, at least 1.5 – 2 mm thick and
about 7 mm long

 

 

Disassemble all parts necessary to punch the two plugs; one on the right side of the flange and
one at the back, as shown in the figure below:

 

NORGE 1200 8V

• Right Lug
• Right Fairing
• Central exhaust collector box


Griso 1200 8V

• Remove the oil cooler from crankcase (without detaching the oil pipes)


Stelvio

• Nothing must be removed to carry out this operation

Punch the external edge of the hole, ensuring not to hit the plug.

Proceed as follows:

• For the right side: punch at three points, 120° from one another
• For the rear: punch at two points at 180° from one another
